The World Cup is coming to FIFA 23 Ultimate Team this month, and it's going to cause a massive shakeup as we've never seen before in FUT!
The World Cup will not be a separate mode like we've seen in FIFA 14 and FIFA 18, but will instead be perfectly interwoven into the current FUT experience, with a slew of new player goods, limited-time objectives, modes, Squad Building Challenges, and lots more!
We've compiled a list of everything you need to know.
According to EA's latest Deep Dive video, the FIFA 23 World Cup Ultimate Team experience will be deeply interwoven into the current FUT ecosystem, with "a really unique World Cup Ultimate Team experience, with a complete season of daily content, including special player goodies, objectives, and more!"
This is a significant difference from past World Cup standalone modes, but we're looking forward to a completely devoted World Cup tournament covering an entire FUT season! Fans will be able to play as any of the 32 qualified nations in an accurate reenactment of the whole FIFA World Cup 2022, from the first match to the final game, in FIFA 23.
The DLC will include an Online Tournament Mode, allowing fans to battle through the Knockout Stages as any of the eligible nations, vying for glory against other players from around the world. The World Cup DLC will include FIFA World Cup: Live, a tailored EA SPORTS World Cup experience.
Unlike anything else seen before, this revolutionary experience will be updated throughout the tournament's Group and Knockout stages, allowing players to follow along with real fixtures and teams for each game. Authentic team jerseys, stadium designs, graphics, match balls, specialized commentary, and more will be available, as well as new live card kinds. 30 distinct World Cup Heroes have also been announced, offering the most card kinds ever seen.
As the knockout stages begin, EA will commemorate the most significant events in the World Cup thus far, beginning with critical moments from qualifying. When the quarter-finals approach, FIFA 23 gamers will be met by a new class of World Cup FUT Phenoms, which will spotlight the tournament's heroes.
At the end of the event, the top players will be named to the Tournament Team and get permanently upgraded equipment.
